SAAS SEO CASE STUDY

Dacast

Scaling Organic Traffic from 50K to 300K Monthly Visitors

Client Overview

Dacast is a B2B SaaS platform for live and on-demand video hosting, competing directly with industry giants like Vimeo and Wistia. They provide secure, ad-free video solutions for broadcasters, media companies, and enterprises.

The Challenge

In 2019, Dacast's organic traffic was stagnant at around 50k monthly visits. Despite a strong product, their content marketing was scattered and lacked a unified SEO process. They were losing ground to competitors on high-value, transactional search queries like "Best video hosting platform."

Objectives & KPIs

The core objective was to build a scalable SEO and content marketing engine to dramatically increase organic traffic, keyword footprint, and Top 3 rankings. The goal was to establish Dacast as a definitive content authority in the online video industry.

The Strategy & Implementation

We implemented a disciplined, high-velocity content strategy:

  • Full SEO Roadmap: We began by developing a comprehensive roadmap that covered technical cleanup, on-page optimization, and a detailed content plan with clear KPIs for traffic and keyword growth.
  • Content Scaling & Authority Building: The cornerstone of the strategy was a daily publishing schedule of one SEO-optimized article. I produced detailed content briefs for writers, focusing on high-intent themes like "Best live streaming platforms," "Vimeo alternatives," and deep technical guides.
  • On-Page & Technical Hygiene: We standardized metadata across hundreds of posts, implemented a robust internal linking framework to connect informational content to product pages, and cleaned up crawl waste from old URL structures.
  • Continuous Optimization: Success was maintained through monthly reviews of ranking data, aggressive content refresh cycles for top-performing "Best of" articles, and merging overlapping articles into stronger, consolidated guides.
