QuickBooks
Delivering a Global Content Framework for Multiple International Markets
Project Scope
This was a short-term, high-impact enterprise consulting project for Intuit's QuickBooks. The scope involved a comprehensive SEO strategy and content performance review for QuickBooks Canada, India, Singapore, and other key markets in Southeast Asia.
Key Insights from the Audit
The audit revealed several critical opportunities for growth. Many resource pages were reused across regions with minimal localization, limiting their regional relevance. The content portfolio was unbalanced, with an excessive focus on top-of-funnel educational content and not enough articles targeting mid-funnel, problem-solving queries unique to each market (e.g., local tax compliance, invoicing templates).
Strategic Recommendations
My final output was a 60+ slide presentation for QuickBooks' internal marketing teams, outlining a clear, data-driven path forward:
- Three-Tier Content Framework: I introduced a framework to balance the content portfolio across Educational (awareness), Problem-Solving (region-specific challenges), and Conversion (bridging content to product features) layers.
- Hyper-Localization: I recommended a shift away from simple translation towards creating unique local content for each region to capture specific search behaviors and SERP features.
- Data & Opportunity Mapping: The strategy was grounded in traffic segmentation by topic and intent, identifying content clusters with high impressions but low CTR and significant keyword gaps compared to local competitors.
- Internal Linking & Authority: A key recommendation was to improve internal linking between the vast library of educational content and the transactional, product-focused pages to strengthen topical authority and guide users down the funnel.
